Copycat Shamrock Shake

You won’t need the luck of the Irish to get your child to take their milk OIT dose when you turn it into a mint flavored milk shake. No leprechauns were harmed in the making of this recipe.

Shamrock Shake Yield: 1 milk dose

Ingredients
· 1 cup whole milk
· 1⁄4 cup heavy cream or full fat coconut milk · 3 tbsp corn syrup
· 1⁄4 tsp peppermint extract (you can use less if you’d like, this stuff is really strong!)
· 5-6 drops green food coloring

Directions
· Whisk milk, heavy cream, corn syrup, and extract in a large bowl.
· Add food coloring until you reach your desired shade of green.
· Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight.
· Blend frozen cubes in a high powered blender or a food processor until it looks like soft serve ice cream. For a more milkshake like consistency, let the cubes thaw a bit or thin the mixture out a bit with milk of your choice.
· Serve in a large glass with a spoon or milkshake straw and a dollop of whipped cream or your favorite non dairy alternative. A cherry on top is optional. (But is it?)
· Enjoy!

Notes
· This is one recipe where you can encourage your child to lick the bowl. And the spoon. And the ice cube tray. You want to make sure they are getting every last bit of their dose.
· If they’re still updosing, measure out their dose amount, then add enough non dairy milk to equal one cup of liquid.
· Doing egg white OIT? Just add the egg whites to the recipe and they’ll disappear into the minty, creamy goodness. · On OIT for nuts? Fold in your dose’s worth of chopped nuts or sprinkle them on top.
· If you need non dairy whipped cream for the topping, look for Redi-Whip’s almond or coconut options.
