Soak Up Joy

When I was a little girl, someone was advertising for their services by mailing everyone in my neighborhood a flat, dry sponge printed to look like a dollar bill with their company’s logo in the center. It was ridiculously stiff and thin.

Seeing my unbelief, my father allowed me to be the one to let just one drop of water fall on the sponge and watch what happened. It swelled incredibly as the moisture spread rapidly out from the point of contact. A few more drops and I was holding a normal sized sponge in my hands.

I have never forgotten that thirsty sponge, nor even seen one so dried out again. This December, let the Good News of Christmas drip onto your soul.

Let it soak in.

Let it change you and make you who you are meant to be.
