Acorns

The ground is full of acorns this time of year.  Perhaps you can carry some in your pockets and put one in a jar each time you go out of your way to say thank you. Can your family overflow the jar you choose?  Mail a thank you card. Look in the eyes of a clerk. Call an older relative. Think of someone taken for granted. Stop by with crayon pictures for the fire fighters. Give the mailman a cookie.

The ‘thank you’s you share are like the falling acorns.  Some will just lie there, some will be a delightful nourishment, and some of them will grow and into mighty trees of their own and spread more acorns than you can count.
