You are Nimble

Have you ever had a system at home you had to change? Like the chore distribution or rest time schedule or the homework regime?

You are not alone!

I have re-made the ultimate chore chart more times than I can count. I have sat down with the family and given the speech about “how it will be from now on” about all kinds of subjects. My kids listen and try not to laugh.  But I can read it in their sparkling eyes, “How long will this one last?” They know this is not the first and definitely not the last time mom will reinvent the wheel.

So am I stupid? A failure? I used to think so. Until one day someone helped me think about this better. No. I am actually a wise and nimble mom. I have seen that the kids have grown into more abilities, outgrown some patterns, have different needs. They change. The schedule changes. I must also. And some of our routines and rules must be flexible too.

If this is also your story, please own it. You are not a failure if you change up the systems at home; you are nimble, organized and observant! In a word, you are amazing!
